Tiger makes molecular gas analyzers based upon 21st Century Spectroscopy, the most advanced technology in the marketplace. We sell to semiconductor fabricators; industrial and university laboratories, chemical companies, and industrial gas manufacturers, among others. The atmosphere is dynamic and the pace, fast.

 

We seek an experienced buyer/planner, with solid judgment and a background in high-tech manufacturing.

In this position you will be responsible for procuring materials, equipment and services to support manufacturing, R&D, and service requirements. We will count on you to place orders and schedule timely delivery in accordance with our shipping schedule.  As such, you will need to accurately maintain all system planning and purchasing data, as well as establish metrics and track performance vs. goals.

 

Inventory control of assigned materials is of paramount importance for us. To that end, we will look to you to:

  • Oversee the cycle counting process
  • Work closely with accounting for A/P and inventory analysis / accuracy
  • Analyze forecast vs. sales performance, supplier quotations, and inventory levels
  • Propose inventory reduction initiatives
  • Help to implement new MRP system

 

You will be both our internal and external point person when it comes to material management.  As the primary contact with suppliers and internal customers to facilitate problem resolution, you will need to address issues related to non-conforming materials, invoicing, delivery, and pricing.  You will be a key part of our team, joining in product developmental and production meetings as needed.  

 

Education / Experience:

  • BS in Business or related discipline and two or more years of relevant procurement experience in high-tech manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with MRP, inventory management, procurement and supplier management processes
  • Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to support effective buying decisions, problem resolution, process improvements, cost reductions, etc.
  • Procurement experience in a Lean Six Sigma manufacturing environment a plus
  • APICS certification a plus
