Quality Engineer

Tiger Optics is currently in search of an an energetic, capable, and experienced Quality Engineer who will be responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring of the critical to quality parameters (CTQ) that will ensure our analyzers continue to adhere to the highest quality and reliability standards we are known for in the industry. This position is based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, in our corporate offices, in Warrington, PA (Bucks County).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and monitor the Company’s Quality Objectives (KPIs), as well as sustain existing KPIs.
  • Support the goals and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes and documentation for controlling the quality of new and existing products.
  • Optimize and document manufacturing processes and work flows.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing quality inspection processes and equipment.
  • Provide support for efficient disposition and resolution of quality issues, including working directly with vendors to address issues.
  • Review/update/maintain Bills of Materials within the ERP system.
  • Lead or support FMEA projects.
  • Assist manufacturing and engineering teams in developing corrective and preventive action plans for product nonconformities.
  • Provide excellent support to a variety of internal customers, including the production team, engineering, suppliers, and purchasing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of five years of “hands-on” experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes, in order to be able to effectively optimize processes and documents accordingly
  • Experience with statistical analysis of manufacturing processes (SPC experience helpful)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 (ideally the 2015 standard)
  • Experience with ERP systems, data entry and reporting
  • Professionalism, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read, interpret and comprehend engineering prints / assembly drawings / BOM’s
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills, a results-oriented work ethic, and ability to work alone with limited direct supervision.
